This Morning's Holly Willoughby emotional as she reveals why she was absent from yesterday's episode as she returns to show

This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby was choked with emotion as she revealed why she was absent from Monday's show.

The regular ITV host returned to her hosting duties on Tuesday (June 23) following some brief time away from the show.

The mum-of-three was absent from the daytime favourite during yesterday's instalment (June 22).

But returned to her usual spot alongside her co-host Phillip Schofield today, who seemed very happy to have her back.

The silver-hair presenter welcomed her back after having hosting the show yesterday with former Big Brother presenter Davina McCall.

Holly was forced to be absent from Monday's episode as she took her children back to school.

Holly is mum to Harry, 11, Belle, nine, and Chester, five, with her partner Dan Baldwin.

During today's instalment, Holly addressed her absence, describing yesterday as an "emotional" day.

It was really good, the school were brilliant and it was all really organised, I worried about it naturally, as a parent you worry about these things." She said.

"But actually very organised. The kids were just so excited to see each other, I got a little bit emotional.

"Because you've been with them the whole time, I knew what they had done, what they've eaten, what they've learnt, it's like having them back as babies, and suddenly they were doing stuff in the day that I didn't know about, so it was relinquishing control."

It comes after Davina labelled Holly a "good mummy" during Monday's episode, while Phil spoke of Holly's absence.

He said: "Welcome to a new week, and this is Davina.

"Holly is taking her children to school today, they're all going back and it is a staggered affair."
