This Morning's Holly Willoughby breaks down in tears as Phil Schofield takes over

This Morning's Holly Willoughby was moved to tears during an incredibly moving segment speaking to two chart-topping nuns.

Holly started sobbing and asked her co host Phillip Schofield to take over after nuns Sister Geraldine Marie and Sister Gabriel touched her with their words.

Phillip asked Sister Geraldine Marie and Sister Gabriel how it felt to make the decision to give their lives to God.

They replied: "It's not an easy decision to make, but imagine for yourself, when you met the person you loved, and you wanted to give your life to them, that's not an easy decision to make.

"In every walk of life, whether we are single, married, called to religious life, it's an act of faith and an act of trust.

"Somewhere you are placing yourself in the hands of somebody else, we are all doing that somewhere, of course it takes great courage and you have to believe that ultimately it will work out and be okay."

"That's going to make me cry, listening to that," said Holly, clutching her chest and welling up.

The Arundel nuns continued: "When you listen to our CD, if you're at home and fed up or anxious or feeling depressed, just know in West Sussex there is a community of women and we are here and we are with you.

"And we are making the journey as well."

Holly wept: "Thank you, there are just some people who talk and they really get you don't they, oh that took me by surprise.

"You are going to have to read this bit," she told Phil.

"Sorry, it's just when somebody says it's all going to be okay, it's just nice to hear isn't it."

And viewers shared in Holly's emotion as one tweeted: "I’m totally with you @hollywills... when hearing those lovely words it totally gets you & I welled a little too #ThisMorning @thismorning ".

"With you on that one Holly ... #ThisMorning," wrote another.

"I dont know if it’s because of lockdown but @hollywills and the wee nuns have me in tears #ThisMorning," added a third.

* This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
