Friday's episodes of ITV's flagship daytime programme are usually presented by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

And a thrilled Holly and Phil confirmed in an interview with awards host Joel Dommet they will not need to present tomorrow's edition.

They said: "The great thing is it's on a Thursday for the first time so we don't have to wake up."

Holly and Phil made multiple references throughout today's show that they were looking forward to a boozy night at the awards.

Over the years, fans have been in hysterics at iconic television moments such as when they arrived in their clothes from the night before in 2016.

People took to Twitter to say how they were gutted to miss out on the annual tradition.

Liam Fitz said: "Anyone else gutted that we won’t get to see a drunk @Schofe and @hollywills on Fridays show? It’s always a highlight!"

Ursula added: "Can’t believe you two ain’t on tomorrow , love seeing you both presenting with a hangover."

Lynsey questioned: "NTA awards tonight does this mean tomorrow's show is going to be hilarious?"

Chantal commented: "#ThisMorning The only thing this year we won't see the hangover repercussions the next day."

*This Morning airs at 10am on weekdays on ITV and ITVHub
