This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's shock as mum admits she fed son roadkill

"We have had deer, we have had pheasant and rabbit."

This is what a mum-of-one revealed on national television on Tuesday morning when talking about feeding her child roadkill.

Describing herself as the "Millennial Hunter Gatherer" , Laura Ansbro used to work in marketing but left to bring up her son.

On social media, Laura talks about her "hunter-gathering in the 21st Century" and how she is able to make easy savings by eating food she finds by the road side.

Appearing on ITV's This Morning , she gave some examples.

She said: "It is not exactly roadkill but once as we were driving along we saw a pigeon fall from the sky. It had been electrocuted by an overhead powerline!"

"Already cooked," added Phillip Schofield.

Laura replied: "It wasn't already cooked but the feathers were a bit singed!"

She said: "The fresh part is the main thing and when find that when something is fresh it is usually first thing in the morning.

"I don't eat anything squashed. I don't scrape it up off the road."
