This Morning's Holly and Phillip confirm return after lengthy break with promise to fans

By Simon Duke

After a lengthy break, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will finally be back on This Morning on Monday and had a big promise for fans ahead of their return.

Viewers haven't seen the ITV daytime show's usual presenting pair in action since the middle of the December, apart from on Christmas Day when they were at the helm of a pre-recorded festive special.

Since Holly and Phillip have been on screen, an array of different hosts have taken the reins on This Morning, with Vernon Kay teaming up with Josie Gibson and then Rochelle Humes and Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary having a full week as main presenters as This Morning returned for 2022.

But, in an advert that went out on ITV right before the new episode of Vera on Sunday night, Holly and Phillip confirmed their return with Holly teasing: "Food, fashion, beauty and lifestyle," before Phillip promised: "We'll bring you sunshine whatever the weather."

Feelings on Holly and Phillip being back on This Morning are mixed to say the least.

When they were nowhere to be seen last week, one disappointed viewer tweeted: "Where are Phillip and Holly? I turned off when I saw they weren't on."

Equally upset another wrote: "Missing Phil and Holly @thismorning. Mornings just aren’t the same."

But others aren't in hurry to have Holly and Phil back.

Firmly on Team Alison and Dermot, one viewer tweeted: "I could start watching this regularly with Alison and Dermot - the other two have had their day," with another reacting to news of Holly and Phillip's return by remarking: "Can you not permanently keep them off air really prefer Alison and Dermot."
