This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phil Schofield were left stunned after finding out what’s in some of our beauty products.
The presenters were being shown a range of vegan cosmetics on offer by Sarah Jossel.
But the pair were left speechless after Sarah revealed what’s used in some non-vegan products.
She said: “Don’t know about saying this on morning TV, but back in the day they would use beaver’s backside to create leathery, vanilla scents.”
“A beaver's bum!” shrieked Phil, as Holly asked “to do what with?”
Sarah tried to explain to the pair that the beauty industry has ‘come a long way’ from using beavers in products, but the stunned pair were just left with more questions.
Holly asked: “What, that’s how they made perfume?”
And Phil said: “And it’s only a beaver that can do that?
“That’s the most interesting thing I’ve heard today.”
The presenters were also left gobsmacked to discover that mink eyelashes are becoming increasingly popular.
Sarah said: “Fake lashes, huge boom, the problem with it is the ones that are made of mink and fur, it’s absolutely shocking.”
Holly asked: “That’s quite rare, isn’t it?”
But Sarah revealed that ‘more and more brands’ are opting for mink lashes, leaving the pair speechless.
