This Morning's Holly and Phil drink cocktails through awkward moment

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's festivities on This Morning are interrupted by an awkward moment today.

In a special pre-recorded Christmas episode, Holly and Phil will be joined by a number of celebs and guests as they celebrated the big day.

A very dull studio will be instantly transformed by a click of Father Christmas' fingers, with another click making hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield appear.

The show sees Holly and Phil enjoy Bucks Fizz and cocktails, while joined by guests including Leona Lewis and Aled Jones.

But Holly and Phil are met with an awkward moment when Aled appears, thinking he was booked to open the show.

Aled said: "I’ve come to get the Christmas show on the road. It’s taken loads of rehearsal but I’m ready to bring - wait for it - Walking In the Air back especially for you two…”

Before the track could fully kick in Phillip said, “Um, Aled, I’m sorry, there’s a possibility we might have to stop there for a second… I’m sorry, but we’ve actually booked Leona Lewis! Someone should’ve told you.”

Trying hard not to laugh, Aled said, “So you don’t need me? Maybe I’ll just go back here and carry on rehearsing… you never know… [singing in a high pitched tone] We’re walking in the air…. Still got it!”

Other guests on the show include Joel Dommett, Gyles Brandreth and chef Gino D'Acampo, who takes part in some Christmas games with presenter Josie Gibson.

This Morning’s Christmas Day show airs tomorrow (Christmas Day) from 10am on ITV and ITV Hub
