This Morning's Eamonn Holmes left speechless at guest's outfit on today's show

Eamonn Holmes was left speechless on today's episode of This Morning.

The Northern Irish presenter hosted the latest edition of the ITV programme with his wife Ruth Langsford.

On a segment early in the episode, they were joined by Gyles Brandreth and Georgia Toffolo to discuss the issues of the day - including the announcement that Mexico is set to move to the " red list " in the government's latest travel review.

However, as Ruth was introducing the feature, Eamonn was noticeably distracted by Gyles Brandreth's striking gold jumper.

He said: "Sorry darling, but before we talk about anything. I always say 'say what you see,' right?

"And you just have to mention what the heck are you wearing?"

Gyles Brandreth clarified his bold sweater choice was inspired by Team GB's success at the Tokyo Olympics after they won their 16th gold.

He said: "It all ends at the weekend and we've done so tremendously well.

"I thought if ever I'm gonna wear my golden jumper, it's today."

Fans of the show took to Twitter to say they were similarly taken aback by the outfit.

One user said: "Hahahahaha Eamonn 'what the heck are you wearing?' #ThisMorning

Another tweeted: "Look at Giles #ThisMorning I've just fallen over the coffee table

A third added: "Where the heck does Giles get these jumpers from? #ThisMorning"

A fourth commented: "Giles hun.. what is that jumper"

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVHub
