This Morning's Eamonn Holmes leaves fans in disbelief after question on today's show

Fans of This Morning were in hysterics after a question Eamonn Holmes asked on today's show.

The Northern Irish presenter is hosting the show alongside his wife Ruth Langsford as usual presenters Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield enjoy a summer break.

On the latest edition of the ITV programme, they welcomed a woman who is saving hundreds of disabled dogs as part of Winston's Wheels charity.

Rachel Wetnner was inspired to set up the trust in memory of her Staffordshire bull terrier, Winston, who was diagnosed with an inoperable tumour on his spine that affected his mobility.

Within a short time he had lost use of his hind legs - when another dog owner got in touch to loan Winston his walking wheels - which helped the dog move around and greatly improved the last few years of his life.

The wheels are a harness that support the dogs back legs and pet owners across the country now use the services of Winston's Wheels to help their dogs.

Dr Scott appeared on the show to applaud the work that the charity is doing.

He said: "To find a service that will actually support owners through this challenging process and to loan the wheels to get the dogs moving again is just wonderful."

Fans of the show took to Twitter to agree with the Doctor in commending the charity's activities - but the segment ended on a lighter note as Eamonn Holmes asked a question that left viewers in disbelief.

The 61-year-old's last question was: "Let me ask you then, poo. What happens? Do you lift this flap?"

Elaine, who was one of the dog owners who use the service for her pooch Ziggy, confirmed it isn't an issue.

She said: "There is enough room for him to go. He can go perfectly OK."

Fans of the show took to Twitter in hysterics at the question.

One person tweeted: "Eamonn asking the real questions god love him #whataboutpoo"

Another added: "Only Eamonn would say something like that #ThisMorning"

A third said: "As if Eamonn asked about poo."
