This Morning hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have revealed that Vera star Brenda Blethyn sent an apology to them after appearing on the show.
The ITV programme has been getting into the festive spirit nice and early this week by opening its advent calendar well in advance of December 1.
Each door of the calendar has a different clip behind and Friday's was a flashback to early 2018 when Brenda joined Eamonn and Ruth to talk about what was then the eighth series of Vera.
She was joined in the studio by her dog Jack when all of a sudden he dived on her.
After being well behaved throughout the interview, Jack, who Brenda revealed was born in Durham, got a bit amorous with Brenda exclaiming “was that on the television?!” before looking mortified when Ruth revealed they were indeed still live on air and joking “he does love you doesn’t he?”
And then, after cutting to a feature on viewers looking to have a style, laughter could still be heard in the background as Jack jumped on Brenda as she tried to make a swift exit from the studio.
Ruth and Eamonn giggled as they watched the clip again nearly three years later on Friday's show and it was then that Ruth revealed Brenda felt so bad she sent an apology.
Seeing it again, Eamonn joked: "He's just been loving that dog," to which Ruth replied: "He was loving his mummy that day!" before adding: "She did send us an apology do you remember as well, from him...the naughty dog apology.
Eamonn responded: "What is it about us and dogs? Peter Kay as well," and Ruth told him: "Well, we won't go into that one!"
