This Morning's Alison Hammond loses it over book title as host shake up splits opinion

This Morning threatened to descend into chaos on Tuesday when presenter Alison Hammond lost it over a rather interesting book title.

With Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on a half term break, Alison and co-host Dermot O'Leary are getting an extended run as main presenters, stepping up from their usual Friday slot to take charge all week.

As viewers took to Twitter to react to Alison and Dermot being at the helm, with some all for their promotion, others longing for Phillip and Holly to return and fans of Josie Gibson calling for bosses to give her another shot, Alison was left in hysterics as Dermot produced a book with a highly suggestive name.

Dermot told Alison that he'd picked a book up from the 'library' in the studio, adding that he thought it would be "right up her street."

With her curiosity sparked, Dermot then opened the book and began to read out its title and that was all it took for ex Big Brother star Alison to crease up in laughter as he revealed it was called Fanny Hill.

After erupting with the giggles, Alison quipped: "I was not expecting that!"

Alison's laughter then went up a notch after Dermot divulged that the book's sub-title was 'Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure.'

Struggling to regain composure, Alison shouted: "Put those books away right now! You're not allowed to take from the library ever again."

This Morning posted the clip on their Twitter, captioning it: "Alison's reaction to 'Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure' is impeccable."

But not all of their followers agreed,. with one critic blasting: "Nope Alison’s screeching and Dermot’s attempt at being funny are just getting too much. In fact this is one partnership that doesn’t work. Most of the show I now fast forward."

Another reacted: "Alison has taken over this show, she just outdoes everyone else! Not in a good way."

There are plenty of Alison fans though, with one responding: "That really made me smile Alison's laugh is so infectious," and another commenting: "She always makes me laugh. She’s a natural."
