This Morning's Alison Hammond delights at sharing baby news on ITV show

This Morning host Alison Hammond delighted at sharing some big baby news with viewers on Friday.

Right after the ITV show returned from an advertising break, Alison told those watching at home that she and co-presenter Dermot O'Leary had "some exciting news."

The first bit of news had nothing to do with a baby, with Alison informing viewers that production had fixed a Christmas statue she'd spoken earlier on in the programme.

But then, getting things back on track, Alison continued: "We've got some more exciting news actually. We've got some baby news."

Dermot explained: "This week we had a brand new addition to the This Morning family," before former Big Brother star Alison revealed: "Our deputy editor Emma welcomed a beautiful little girl called Mia on Monday."

After Dermot interrupted to shout: "Stop," Alison added: "Weighing in at 7lbs 9 oz - what a clever mummy," as Dermot reacted: "What a little beaut."

Alison gushed: "Look at this baby, I just want to cuddle her," as Dermot enthused: "I love that!"

Rounding off the announcement, Alison sent a message to Emma saying: "Honestly, we cannot wait for you to come back to the studio and introduce us."

Dermot then told viewers that there was a family connection with Friday's This Morning as producer Nicole was baby Mia's auntie.

This Morning viewers were slightly less enthusiastic about the announcement, with one tweeting: "Random news about some woman having a baby," with a second replying: "Really omg a real baby ??? No !! Omg that’s a miracle."
