Presenter Alison Hammond was nearly arrested by Italian police during a live broadcast on This Morning.
The 44-year-old presenter was filming in the middle of a busy street in Pisa, Italy, to promote the latest competition on the ITV show when she was interrupted by the government officials.
Excitable Alison caused quite a stir in the street as she was trying to tell viewers how to enter the draw when a police women walked in front of the camera and tried to move her along.
Alison said: "Look guys, we haven't got a permit, we are not allowed to film here. I'm gonna get arrested. I love you all. Laters."
The presenting duo back in the London studio, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield , were left gobsmacked, with Phil's jaw shown ajar and his head held in his hands.
'Shaking' Alison turned to the two officers to apologise and even shared an Italian 'good morning' greeting with them in an attempt to smooth things over.
The mum-of-one scuttled to a different filming spot but was approached again by police asking her to move along.
Back in the studio, Holly said: "Good luck Alison... with the Italian police."
Phil added: "Well, we have sent her to many places, but that is the first time she has got arrested."
Fans of the show were left 'howling' at the fiasco, but some questioned if it was set up.
The award winning This Morning show airs every weekday morning on ITV at 10.30am until 12.30pm.
