This Morning's Alice Beer accused of 'Aldi bashing' during Christmas food segment

This Morning's Alice Beer has been accused of ' Aldi bashing' during a Christmas food segment.

The consumer expert was on the ITV show with a Christmas special as she tried and tested everything from mince pies to canapeés.

With the help of This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Alice worked her way through the festive food offerings.

"I'm going to run you through some mince pies, some crackers and some party food. We can't have parties but we do want to have little nibbles while we're playing games," Alice began.

She explained that she used items from the top six supermarkets - including Tesco, M&S and Alidi.

But angry viewers felt Alice was being rather critical of the budget store as she didn't hold back on their mince pie options.

"Aldi, sorry, you are my no, no, no on this category," Alice said as she then spoke about their Millionaire Mince Pies for £1.99.

"It's full of chocolate and I couldn't find any mince. They're not mince pies Aldi," she raged.

So, viewers expressed their annoyance on Twitter.

"#thismorning what is her beef with @AldiUK," wrote one.

Another said: "Biiiig Aldi bashing from from whoever that women is on @thismorning right now #Thismorning."

"Dear #ThisMorning why is Alice on talking about food for Christmas? @AldiUK is absolutely phenomenal for Christmas food or anything from them. Alice is just posh. Please don’t her back on the TV @thismorning," fumed a third.

A fourth argued: "Hold on a minute Alice .. I don't like mincemeat so I would have the Aldi millionaires mince pie!!"

Each to their own.
