The 45-year-old responded: "You know what, I’m much better because of my social media, if I'm really honest.

"I can't describe the outpouring of thanks I've got to give to everyone. Every message I've read, it’s just been wonderful.

"It's very sad but that’s completely okay and I'm very proud of my dad as well."

Ben then added that Emma will be back in a couple of weeks, with Rochelle adding her thanks for her being on the show.

Last week, the resident psychologist posted a video to her Twitter followers about her father's death to suicide.

She accompanied the video with the post: "My lovely cyber family. This is the hardest message I will ever share, the most tragic message I will ever convey.

"I want you to know I am surrounded by love @thismorning @CloserOnline you have followed my Dads journey and you deserve the conclusion. Xxxxx."

In the two-minute video, the TV regular explained: "My dad's had psychosis for eight months now. My dad sadly lost his battle with psychosis on Monday.

"He took his own life. I found him but I was just about 30 seconds too late, I didn't get that chance."

She then added an important message to her followers on mental health.

"My dad's end does not define who he was," Emma said.

"Mental illness does not define you. He was the strongest, most wonderful and most beautiful human being you could ever have met and I'm so privileged that I was his daughter."

This Morning is on weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
