This Morning hosts have viewers 'switching channels' after big change

Some This Morning viewers have declared they've 'switched channels' over a big change to the show on Fridays.

At the end of last year, after a lot of speculation, it was confirmed that Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary would replace Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes in their long-held end of the week slot.

The husband and wife duo were said to be "furious and upset" at losing Fridays, although they are still holiday cover for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, with them taking the reins last week for half term.

Fans were delighted to see Ruth and Eamonn at the helm of This Morning for a whole week and are now bemoaning the fact they were ever axed from Fridays, saying they've started watching other shows instead as a result.

Minutes into Friday's episode with Alison and Dermot, one took to Twitter to rant: "Oh gosh these two #thismorning I can’t get over Eamonn and Ruth not being here on a Friday!"

Revealing they'd changed the channel, another tweeted: "Another Friday where I have to watch #JeremyVine. Get rid of them and give back the slot to Eamonn and Ruth," and, doing the same thing, a third posted: "What a shambolic start to the programme. . Bring back Ruth and Eamonn. Time to change channel"

Another blasted: "When will they finally realise and admit that Alison and Dermot isn’t working. You can’t force chemistry. Get Ruth and Eamonn back. It’s what we all want," and tweeting Ruth directly, a fan told her: "Ruth, I wish you and Eamonn would come back to This Morning on a Friday. I like Alison and Dermot on their own but together they don't work. I miss you both.

However, others are big fans of Alison and Dermot, who have been hosting Fridays since January 8. Defending them, one commented: "ALISON HAMMOND AND DERMOT TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!" and responding to one of their critics, another hit back: "Why not be happy for Alison and Dermot?

"Eamonn and Ruth are on in holidays so you will get to see them more than when they were doing only Fridays"
