This Morning guest revealed she used the Heimlich manoeuvre on her goldfish

This Morning viewers were left in a state of shock on Wednesday when a woman appeared on the show to reveal she used the Heimlich manoeuvre on her goldfish.

Yes, in these coronavirus dominated times, the guest in question offered some much needed light relief with the story of how she saved her fish's life with the famous technique.

Kharis Harvey spoke to This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby live via video link from her dressing room, where she was joined by her beloved pet fish Gilly in her tank.

She explained to Holly and Phil that Gilly likes to "lick the algae" off the gravel in her tank but doing that led to her getting into difficulty, leading to Kharis having to step in, as she reveals in the video above.

Kharis told them: "In this instance she'd been sucking a pebble and it got stuck." Phillip exclaimed: "so how did you get it out," to which Kharis explained: "I don't know what told me to do it, but I reached in and put my hand either side of her stomach area and just gave three little squeeze and on the third squeeze this (a pebble) shot out of her mouth!"

Holly quipped: "It's a miracle! I've heard of a lot of things but I've never heard of this!"
