This Morning forced to move locations after 'utterly bizarre' issue in the studio

A guest on This Morning was forced to quickly move to another part of the studio today as a light wobbled above their head.

Matthew Wright joined hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to speak about the latest season of The Crown.

The panel started to chat but then they heard an ominous noise from above their heads.

Phillip said: "What's that?"

Holly said: "It's santa on the roof."

They all stared upwards and saw a large studio light swinging right above Matthew's head.

Matthew said: "Can I move?"

Holly said he wasn't allowed to because of the social distancing rules on set but asked the producers: "Can we put a chair there for him if the light falls please?"

Holly listened to her earpiece and then said: "Let's go over to the pub shall we."

The trio all moved location with Holly saying: "I've never seen that before."

Phil agreed and said: "How utterly bizarre."

And viewers at home were also quick to comment on the incident, with some suggesting it could have been a ghost.

Mark Cording said: "I think the studio has a ghost on @ thismorning the lights was shaking."

Karla May Benwell said: "The lights look like they have a bit of Christmas spirit running through them."

Loveitsue said: "A ghost in the studio."

But as they returned from the break Phillip explained what the issue was.

He said: "A lamp went rogue and the lines got tangled up with the one next to it.

"But they've both backed off and everything is fine now."
