This Morning fans unsettled as Holly Willoughby wears black amid Boris Johnson hospitalisation

This Morning fans were left unsettled today after presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield wore dark colours amid Prime Minister Boris Johnson's hospitalisation.

The prime minister was moved to intensive care last night after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.

Holly and Phil addressed the news today, but viewers were distracted by their clothing choices and suggested it looked like they were grieving.

One tweeted: "Why are they dressed in black.. He's not dead #ThisMorning #PrayForBoris."

While another commented: "Why are they both wearing black? #ThisMorning."

A third remarked: "#ThisMorning Why is everyone wearing black today? Suzanna on gmb was wearing dark navy. It all looks a bit foreboding."

Another wrote: "Surely Holly and Phil wearing black on @thismorning sends the wrong message about the PM out? #ThisMorning."

"@thismorning #ThisMorning . Its the start of sunny weather and they are both in solid black. Anyone would think they are waiting for a death????," one tweeted.

A fan questioned: "Why are Holly and Phil in black?? #ThisMorning."

Earlier today, Dr Hilary addressed Boris hospitalisation on Good Morning Britain.

He said: "What we do know is that people can deteriorate quite quickly. They can be fine, they can be quite stable, but what we do know is that after a 10-day illness of a temperature and symptoms being quite moderate then sometimes they can fall off a cliff at the end of the 10 days and suddenly the breathing becomes the problem as the lungs become more congested.

"And that would have been the factor deciding that he needed to go to hospital. So he's having oxygen, I would think he's on non-invasive ventilation; a mask but not sedated, so he's conscious."

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
