This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had a heartbreaking phone in on Wednesday's show that reduced viewers to tears.
An 80-year-old widow named Margaret, from Devon, said she was absolutely desperate to go for a walk with someone.
"I feel very lonely, I am one of thousands of people in the country who want people to just be grateful to be with someone.
"They are very lucky, and I feel very isolated and alone.
"I lost my little dog two and a half months ago, he was 16 and a half, I am greiving.
"Lately I feel like there isn't a purpose any more."
Josie Gibson, who also stars on the show, offered to go for a walk with Margaret, who was overjoyed to hear that.
"Thank you everyone, your show is my lifeline," she said.
And Josie was not the only one - as hundreds of viewers tweeted to say that they would love to go for a walk with Margaret.
And those who lived too far away offered to become her pen pal or send her a Christmas card.
One tweeted: "I want to spend Christmas with Margaret bless her. Broke my heart".
"Awww Margaret, your story brought tears to my eyes. It looks like you have loads of offers for a walking buddy coming through on twitter. I'm thrilled for you!! If I lived closer I would walk with you anytime," gushed another.
A third asked the show: " @thismorning If i send you a Christmas card for Margaret can you guys pass it on to her?.
"I live too far away to be of any practical help, but this lady’s plea hit me in the heart".
Another kind viewer wrote: " @Schofe @hollywills @thismorning #Thismorning I live in Devon, have a car and would love to take Margaret for a walk. I love Art...so maybe she can teach me to Paint! yours hopefully! X".
