This Morning fans say they saw 'massive dig' at Phillip Schofield

This Morning fans are convinced the show made a "massive dig" at Phillip Schofield on Wednesday.

Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle were live in the studio as they discussed the topics of the day and welcomed a number of guests. Former This Morning colleague Luke Chilton joined them on the sofa to discuss his dating life.

The segment, titled "Our Very Own Colleague's Dating Disasters", saw Luke reveal he had turned up to an app date only to find the person was not exactly what he was looking for - more than 200 times over.

Luke said he was looking for "the one" for more than a decade and his disastrous dates have inspired his new book Don't Swipe Right.

As Luke was formerly a member of the This Morning team, many viewers watching at home couldn't help but liken his experiences to those of Phillip Schofield.

Taking to Twitter, David said: "Bit of a ballsy topic after what went down with Phil", while Benjamin said: "Surely a massive dig at Philip". Jennie said: "Very brave of #ThisMorning to cover dating disasters and have an ex-employee on to talk about it!! #Awks".

Sharing a screenshot of the segment, Emma said: "Ummm. Brave". Helen said: "Probably not the best time to be talking about this stuff".

ITV has been approached for comment.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX
