This Morning fans say ITV are 'mad' to 'axe' Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford

This Morning fans were sad and angry today as Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford hosted the show.

Eamonn and Ruth are reportedly set to be replaced on Fridays by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

The move came as a shock to the married couple and they are said to be upset by the decision made by ITV.

The pair are set to still present the show in some school holidays and it's not known when their regular Friday slot will come to an end.

Today was the first show the pair had presented since the news they would be replaced was reported.

The couple made no reference to the news, but as they bantered away with guests and made jokes as usual, viewers begged ITV to rethink their decision.

Rebecca said: "ITV are mad to sack Eamonn & Ruth, they crack me up so much! Their Friday show is the highlight of my week."

Ness said: "Please keep @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL - love them."

Allie said: "@EamonnHolmes @RuthieeL @thismorning So happy to tune in and see your lovely faces today Best #thismorning presenters EVER!!!!"
