This Morning fans repulsed as Phillip Schofield tucks into Marmite and cucumber 'cake'

This Morning fans were feeling repulsed as they tuned into Wednesday's show thanks to some rather unusual cakes.

TV cook Juliet Sear joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in the studio, but her latest creations were somewhat of a mystery as the hosts admitted they didn't know exactly what cakes she was making.

Towards the end of the show, Holly and Phil sat down to tuck into their baked treats - but they were pleasantly surprised by what was in front of them.

As dad-of-two tucked into his cake, he shrieked: "Is that Marmite icing?! What the hell has happened to you? What is going on here?"

Holly was just as stunned and said: "OMG so it is bread? It's an actual sandwich?! I thought you had made all of this stuff out of icing!"

Juliet then went on to tell the TV duo what exactly was in their personalised sandwich cakes, with Phillip revealing that his favourite sarnie is a Marmite and cucumber one.

"Phil, I know you prefer savoury things," Juliet told him, before adding: "You've got no egg in yours. The other layers are cheese and onion but pickled, BLT, and cheese and chive."

"Holly, you've got cheese and celery, chicken and bacon, egg and rocket, and beef and dijon mustard," Juliet added.

"Once you get your head around the weirdness, it's really lovely," Phil commented as he continued eating his sandwich cake.

"It just turned my whole head upside down because I thought it was a 'cake' cake," Holly added.

Viewers tuning in at home weren't exactly thrilled at the idea of sandwich cakes, and took to Twitter to comment.

"I would be fuming if I had a cake and there were sandwiches inside #ThisMorning," one person posted.

Another tweeted: "I don’t care where that cake originated from. It’s a no from me. #ThisMorning."

A third viewer added: "No harm but that sandwich cake looks f**king minging! #ThisMorning," while a fourth simply wrote: "Disgusting #ThisMorning."

Another fan of the show wrote: "This is pure insanity; she’s lost it. What next? Ice cream in a stew? Steak in a sticky toffee pudding? #thismorning."

One baffled viewer added: "A sandwich cake? With Marmite, celery, cheese and cucumbers?! Is Juliet for absolute real?! #ThisMorning."
