This Morning fans praise Holly and Phil for keeping 'straight face' as woman talks intimacy with alien boyfriend

This Morning viewers have praised Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield for managing to keep a "straight face" on Thursday's This Morning after a woman appeared on the show claiming to have been dating an alien for over a year. Emanuela Rose, formerly known as Abbie Bela, claims she met her alien boyfriend, who communicates with her telepathically, when she was abducted by a UFO in London.

In an interview with the This Morning hosts, Emanuela was accompanied by an inflatable alien, a "placeholder" for her alien boyfriend Emanuel, The Daily Star reports. She said: "I should have been scared but I wasn't. Alien's don't have names, the way that we do, so I changed my name actually to match his".

Philip Schofield quizzed the interviewee further on her relationship, asking where her alien boyfriend had taken her on dates. "We’ve been on dates, he doesn’t really understand dates so it’s kind of like a rocky thing,” she began, "We go out. I can’t travel too far because my human body can’t really take far travel, like to his planet in the Andromeda galaxy, but we go to the cinema and stuff and he takes on a different form then obviously so people don’t see him.”

Holly then pressed further on the intimacy of her relationship, to which the US actress suggested that her sex life is so good that other people should date an alien if they’re getting “tired of men”. She added: “Once you go alien you’ll forget Earthmen. If there’s any ladies or men or anyone in between who’s interested in dating men and you’re tired of men, I recommend the aliens.

“The aliens live in light and pure energy, so we can’t even go all the way that he can go because it would kill me. Compared to earthmen it’s like times a million.”

In fact, Emanuela is hoping for more commitment from her boyfriend. “He is learning the customs here. He did try and propose but I'm pretty traditional so I want a ring and he doesn't really know what that is. I said I wanted a big rock and he got me some pebbles from the beach, he just doesn’t get it.”

Viewers of the programme praised Holly and Phil’s response to Emanuela’s interview, with many left wondering how the popular presenting duo had managed to maintain a straight face.

Taking to Twitter Oroyo Eubanks tweeted: "I am proud of Phil and Holly for keeping a straight face @thismorning #Aliens #ThisMorning" and Donna Emery added: "“Once you go alien you forget earth men” how the hell do Holly and Philip keep a straight face!!! #ThisMorning #itv".

Emma Trencher posted: "@hollywills @Schofe good job guys keeping a straight face! True professionals!! #aliens #ThisMorning" whilst Terry added: "How can @hollywills and @Schofe keep a straight face doing this interview. Homegirl has an alien boyfriend #ThisMorning".

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub from 10am.
