This Morning fans in tears over abused dogs left with 'catastrophic' injuries

This Morning viewers were left in tears on Friday, as two dogs who suffered permanent injuries in disgusting abuse appeared on the show.

Maggie, who had been on the show last year, was left completely blind and lost an ear after she was shot 17 times.

She is now recovering really well with her owner Kasey, and has become a therapy dog.

Millie was also brutally attacked, with her face "bashed in" by children in Russia before they shot her in an attempt to kill her.

Her "catastrophic" facial injuries left her with no snout, and parts of her top jaw and bottom jaw missing.

Millie also has her tongue hanging out of her mouth most of the time, as it's more comfortable this way.

Kasey came on the show with the pair, alongside This Morning regular Dr Scott who knew about the two cases.

Hosts Eamonn Holmes and Rochelle Humes, like viewers, were horrified to hear details about what the dogs were put through.

Scott and Kasey were quick to prove why keeping the dogs alive after their attacks was the right decision, as many would question whether they should be put down.

Maggie and Millie, who both still had bullets in their bodies after the shootings, were said to be happy dogs who could do anything other pups could do.

Scott added of little Millie: "She is so affectionate, really sweet. She can smell and enjoys life."

Emotional viewers took to Twitter over the interview, "in tears" over the dogs' stories.

One fan said: "Milly and Maggie are such beautiful animals. How can people be so cruel."

Another tweeted: "Oh Millie you beautiful girl This level of cruelty is awful and I cant believe it still exists. Sitting here in tears. Poor baby! People are so evil. Well done Casey! You are an angel."

A third added: "I’m in tears omg who could harm these beautiful fur babies"

This was echoed by a fourth fan who said: "Omg I just burst into tears for that little dog."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
