This Morning fans in shock as woman reveals plan to marry her DOG live on air

This Morning viewers were left gobsmacked on Tuesday as guest Elizabeth Hoad revealed her plans to marry her pet dog, Logan live on air.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on the famous sofa, Elizabeth claimed that after four failed engagements and 221 dates she had given up on men for good and was turning her full attention to her pooch.

Revealing why she wanted to tie the knot with her dog, who she rescued from a shelter, Elizabeth said: "It was like we were meant to meet. He's saved me and I've saved him.

She added: "I was broken before I got him. I got a dog behaviourist when I first got him and she said he'd saved me."

Elizabeth told Eamonn and Ruth that she had been on dating website after dating website, but failed to find a love like theirs.

"It must be me. I dont know, I'll tell you what I think.... the older men want the younger women and the younger man want the older women," she reasoned.

"I've got a son of 25, men of that age are asking me out."

The final straw was when she was speaking to a man called Alibi Andi after meeting on Facebook only to discover he was already married.

"It is quite extreme to go from that to saying 'I'm fed up with them all, I'll marry my dog," Ruth tried to politely reason.

However, Elizabeth replied: "It's not just me. I have about 10 other friends, we go on lots of treks with all our dogs and one of my friends said 'why dont you just marry him'."

Ruth then suggested that perhaps Elizabeth's pal was joking, to which she clapped back: "After the Alibi Andy incident, i thought, no this is it now."

Elizabeth is now set to marry her dog later in the programme.

"There has to be a law against marrying your bloody dog #ThisMorning ," one flabbergasted viewer wrote.

While another added: "If you can get what you need in a relationship from a dog, then maybe... MAYBE it's your issue, rather than the men you date. #ThisMorning ".

A third chipped in: "What if the dog doesnt want to marry her? #thismorning @thismorning ".
