This Morning fans horrified by 'screaming pigs' in background as farmers speak about cull

This Morning viewers were horrified today as they struggled to hear a pair of farmers speaking over the sound of "screaming pigs" in the background.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield had been talking to pig farming sisters Vicky Scott and Kate Moore, who fear for their livelihoods amid the shortage of HGV drivers.

Vicky said that they "need action now" from the government, explaining: "They need to relax the immigration VISAs."

But she was forced to stop talking as the pigs' squealing became too much and said that it was "very noisy".

Yet viewers were very much distracted and distressed by the noise, taking to Twitter to comment.

One fumed: "#ThisMorning was that really necessary to make us listen to those poor screaming pigs just awful!"

While another commented: "Watching #ThisMorning , it gets easier to understand why more people become vegetarian or vegan. Hearing those poor pigs was truly awful."

A third wrote: "Poor pigs. breaks my heart even watching them talking about any slaughter. All slaughter of animals is senseless anyway. Go veggie! Animals have feelings too . #ThisMorning #vegetarian #plantbased."

"Those poor pigs that are crying because they can hear the farmers discussing about them going to slaughter. #ThisMorning," another commented.

One wrote: "What a lovely sound to wake up to - the sound of pigs in pain.. cheers this morning how lovely x #thismorning."

A viewer tweeted: "The noise of those pigs on #ThisMorning makes me never want to eat pork ever again. I already don't really eat it tbh cos I do love a pig but ffs."

Another commented with a crying emoji: "I really dont think we needed to listen to distressed pigs."

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
