This Morning fans confused as Holly and Phil still missing as ITV show returns

This Morning viewers were left feeling baffled on Tuesday as they turned into the first 2022 episode of the ITV show.

As the daytime programme began at 10am, Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond opened the show but it left some fans confused.

Dermot and Alison usually host the show on Fridays and also stand in during holidays such as half term when main hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield take a break.

However, despite having a couple of weeks off for Christmas and New Year, Holly and Phil were still missing from the sofa on Tuesday morning.

Taking to Twitter, viewers commented on their absence with one person writing: "Wheres Phil and Holly! Thought they were back today #ThisMorning."

Another person wrote: "Phil & Holly are STILL on holiday?! Jeezus christ!! #thismorning," while a third asked: "Have Phil and holly retired #Thismorning."

Someone else moaned: "Phil and Holly still aren’t back from their Christmas break? How many weeks off do they need? I wish I had that long off. I was lucky to get a bank holiday off! #ThisMorning."

Another viewer asked: "Did Phil & Holly leave & forget to say goodbye? They’ve been off for ages #ThisMorning @thismorning."

And one other fan of the show admitted: "I much prefer @AlisonHammond and @radioleary over Phil and Holly #ThisMorning."

Alison and Dermot opened the show by talking about how they spent Christmas, with Alison confirming that Josie Gibson came to her house with her young son.

TV chef Phil Vickery was horrified when Alison admitted that she followed his turkey recipe on Christmas Day - but cooked it for six hours instead of just two.
