This Morning fans blast expert's 'dangerous' loophole on Spain 14-day quarantine

This Morning travel expert Simon Calder come under fire for promoting "dangerous" advice.

The travel guru responded to the news British holidaymakers will have to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive home from Spain as coronavirus cases have spiked in the country.

But viewers were horrified when Simon said this didn't mean people would have to stay at home for the two-week period.

Among the crowd, one person wrote: "Absolutely disgraceful This Morning and Simon Calder advising people to break quarantine and go travelling around again spreading the virus , absolutely disgusting."

Instead, Simon pointed out a loophole where people could go on holiday to France or Italy to reduce the amount of time they had to spend at home.

He said: "The only way to reduce two weeks of quarantine you have to serve when returning here is to, believe it or not, leave the country again. To go to France, to Italy, or to anywhere else you like."

He continued: "They can, if they want to, leave their homes, catch the train to the airport and get on a flight to somewhere else."

Viewers blasted Simon for encouraging people to circumvent the rules during the coronavirus pandemic.

Many insisted his advice was "a danger" to the British public.

Others added: "Is Simon Calder mad encouraging people to ignore quarantine rules, this virus KILLS it's not just a cold and has not yet been beaten, was he Paid to say that on live TV, DON'T INVITE HIM BACK."

"Are you trolling? Simon Calder’s advice on This morning, presents a danger to public health! I am a high risk patient and have no sympathy for travellers who chose to travel, whilst people are dying from COVID 19!"

Simon mused he didn't make up the travel and quarantine rules.

He added: "I don't make the rules... There's lovely train line up the coast to France."

Ruth added at the end: "As a programme we have to go with the government advice, which is if you're coming back from Spain, you have to stay in quarantine for 14 days."
