This Morning fans baffled as show is cancelled and replaced by Supermarket Sweep

This Morning was cancelled on Monday morning in a last minute change that saw the iconic show replaced by an old episode of Supermarket Sweep.

Celebrity Supermarket Sweep, hosted by Rylan Clark Neal, was aired at 10am instead of This Morning, and starred Jacqueline Jossa, Scarlett Moffatt and Linda Robson.

Ruth and Eamonn had been covering Phil Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who are on their Christmas break.

But Ruth and Eamonn they presented their final official show on Friday, and will be back for holiday cover in February.

The married duo are being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary instead.

One viewer tweeted: "What have I missed? Where is @thismorning?? "

"Well that’s just ruined my Monday morning #supermarketsweep," grumbled a third.

A fourth remarked: "What the? Having a pj morning and sat down with my porridge at 10.... no #ThisMorning".

This Morning will be back as normal with Holly and Phil on Monday January 4th, and they will be starring in a pre-recorded Christmas episode that airs on Christmas Day.

On Friday January 8th, Alison and Dermot will begin their regular hosting slot.

Holly and Phil have stayed quiet on social media after Eamonn and Ruth presented their final Friday episode - fuelling fresh rumours of a behind-the-scenes rift.

They failed to speak out the pair’s final show - although mum-of-three Holly liked a post about them bowing out.

Meanwhile, Phil gave his followers a peek at his gin advent calendar on his Instagram Story and Snapchat on Friday afternoon.

Former Big Brother star Alison, 45, was keen to let viewers know just how much she thinks of Eamonn and Ruth and simply tweeted: “A class above the rest @EamonnHolmes @RuthieeL,” followed by a red heart emoji.

The Mirror exclusively revealed that ITV decided to make Alison a permanent feature after viewers enjoyed her co-hosting with Dermot in October.
