This Morning fans back Eamonn Holmes over chronic pain health revelation

TV presenter Eamonn Holmes has offered an update to fans over his long-standing back problems.

The popular host of This Morning has been struggling with chronic pain over recent months.

And despite an upturn in fortunes after receiving specialist treatment, he confirmed he will be taking a short break from the show.

Birmingham Mail reports bosses of the show confirmed Ruth Langsford and Eamonn will be absent over half-term.

A relieved Eamonn shared an update on his recovery with followers as he finally revealed that his chronic pain had gone.

The presenter has been in agony for months.

Eamonn tweeted: "Another session of Physio rehab – feels like I’m making progress – slowly but surely.

"Chronic pain now gone because of Steroid injections – thank God. Got to strengthen my back now.

"Small steps, literally but feeling positive. Thanks for sharing your stories."

Fans rushed to support Eamonn with tweets urging him to keep going and stay strong.

Eamonn said during an appearance on Loose Women last month that apparently the slipped discs were 'his fault'.

Wife Ruth had earlier explained: "Now, many of you who follow Eamonn on social media will know he has been talking a lot about chronic pain.

"It's ironic that he's not here because he had to nip to the loo. It takes him so long walking, so he's just on his way back. It takes him longer to walk now."

"About a month ago I did something to my back, I don't know what," Eamonn recalled, "It could have been getting into a car, getting out of bed, whatever."

This Morning continues to air each and every weekday from 10am and returns next week with Alison Hammond hosting.
