This Morning fans are furious with Holly Willoughby's replacement

It's one of the most popular daytime programmes on TV and that's largely down to the charming chemistry between its two presenters.

Stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have been gracing ITV's This Morning views with their presence for years and have established a firm following.

So it's a big gamble who you choose to replace them when they have a well-earned break over Easter.

And according to some the selections have not gone down well, with some fans struggling to keep up with the mix of pairings.

Usual backup duo Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were nowhere to be seen today, and occasional stand in Rylan Clark-Neal was also absent from proceedings.

Friday saw I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! buddies John Barrowman and Emily Atack take on the roles, which received mostly positive reviews, reports Manchester Evening News.

The pair spent weeks together on the ITV reality show last year and their close bond was obvious.

But today’s double act did not impress some viewers at all.

Monday morning’s episode started with the rather random pairing of John Barrowman and Rochelle Hulmes - who stood in for Holly Willoughby when she was in Australia filming last year's I'm A Celebrity.

And it turns out the pair have never even met before today.

John told The Sun: "On Friday I hit it off with Emily who I know like the back of my hand.

Four acts from first episode of new Britain's Got Talent series revealed to be professionals

"I have only watched Rochelle on TV in a couple of things she's done, so this is a new team-up for us.

"I won't get to meet up with her until the day we go on air.

"I can't wait because she's experienced and knows what she's doing. It'll be interesting to put us together and see the dynamic.

"The audience will be watching us getting to know each other during the course of Monday."

Fans posted their annoyance on Twitter.

One said: “John Barrowman? Monday ruined.”

A second said: “Oh god she's on all week? Kill. Me. Now.”

Posting a video of whisky being poured into a half pint of lager, another posted: “Getting ready for #ThisMorning going to need more than this to stand Rochelle and John.”

A fourth added: “Rochelle is not great at all. Stop forcing her on us. Barrowman is sh*t too. Need a new backup pairing. Where’s @Rylan?”
