This Morning chef James Martin walks off show over Phillip Schofield remark

Chef James Martin walked off the This Morning set on Monday after a rather suggestive remark from host Phillip Schofield.

The culinary expert was on the ITV show to do a number of demonstrations at the start of a new week and, having already made a lemon drizzle cake earlier in the show, was due back in the kitchen to rustle up a meat dish.

Teasing what was to come, Phillip said: "And there's crackling," to which co-host Holly Willoughby exclaimed: "Pork and crackling guys!

"There's four great big bits of meat over there," to which Phillip quipped: "One of them is James Martin!"

Ad Holly let out a raucous laugh, James could be seen standing in the kitchen with his hand over his face, shaking his head.

As the camera cut back to Philip and Holly, Philip said: "Sorry James...before all of that...he's walking off now," as James could then be seeing exiting the back of the set with his hands in his pockets.

He did indeed return to the set to fulfil his promise of crackling, with both Phillip and Holly tucking in.

Reacting to James' segment, one viewer tweeted: "Coming up later. James Martin's roast pork. Get your butter out... My god," and another commented: "I can’t watch James Martin when he’s on cos he keeps saying “like that” it annoys the hell out of me #ThisMorning "

With the topic of Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview dominating proceedings on This Morning, one fan was delighted at James' appearance, posting: "Never have I been so glad to see James Martin and his mound of butter."

Equally relieved at the break in Harry and Meghan coverage, another wrote: "This is more like it, James Martin and his 15kg of butter"
