This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna's tears as she talks about missing mum

Chef Clodagh McKenna broke down on This Morning as they celebrated St Patrick's Day.

The Irish cook was back on the ITV show to cook up some culinary delights inspired by her roots.

But Clodagh became emotional when talking to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

"I remember the last time I went to Ireland and I got to the passport controls, it was just before the lockdown happened, I was going over to see my mum," Clodagh said.

She was then overcome with emotion and struggled to continue her story as she wanted to give her mum a shoutout.

"I know it’s tough," Holly sympathetically said.

"It's days like today when you really think about them. We’re alright and then we have a day where we're meant to be with them and it's even harder."

Clodagh took a moment before Holly and Phil continued with the show.

But fans rushed to social media to show their support.

"Omg absolutely sobbing oh Clodagh #ThisMorning," tweeted one.

Another said: "Aww bless Clodagh #ThisMorning."

"I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again! I Love Clodagh! I would happily marry that woman!" a fan added.
