This Morning chef branded 'disgusting' as viewers notice habit

This Morning's Clodagh Mckenna was under fire after a cooking segment on today's show.

The popular chef was preparing a chocolate beef stew with potato dumplings on Friday's edition of ITV's flagship daytime programme.

Hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary could not hide their excitement as the Irish chef prepared the dish she said was perfect for the colder autumn months.

She said: "It's really easy to make. We're gonna elevate a stew to the next level.

"We're gonna put these potato dumplings on top which are so good that you are never gonna make a stew again without potato dumplings."

One of the other key ingredients in the gourmet stew was 400ml of Irish stout.

But just before the chef added the drink to the meal, she asked she if she could take a swig.

She said: "Am I allowed to do this? Don't hate me for this. I know you all want a sip as well."

Dermot gave her the go-ahead to take a drink, and Clodagh assured fans she didn't actually take a sip, but This Morning viewers on Twitter were still unimpressed by the hygiene faux pas.

Antony said: "Absolutely disgusting drinking from the bottle then pouring it into the food. Bet she double dips too.."

Tracey commented: "Clodagh nooooo, don't drink from the bottle and then share your germs by pouring from the bottle into the food. I know the germs will be killed by cooking but still disgusting."

@miss_sahhara posted: "Why is no one talking about the saliva ingredient she is putting in her cooking?"

@ThisisJ8 added: "Drinking out of the bottle then pouring it in the pot use a glass!"

Chris said: "OMG. She drinks from the bottle then pours it in the stew. Her hygiene is terrible."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVHub.
