Eamonn Holmes got more than he bargained for after asking a body language expert about his relationship with Ruth Langsford.
Adrianne Carter was on This Morning to discuss what Harry and Meghan’s gestures towards each other say about their marriage.
But she was put on the spot by Eamonn, who was keen to hear what she had to say about his bond with Ruth.
With a twinkle in his eye, Eamonn asked: “Can you tell looking at me and Ruth that we are a couple?”
Adrianne replied: “I can. I absolutely can.”
He continued: “Can you see how she sidles up to me at every available opportunity? And my hand is on her back...”
But his cheeky comment was returned with an unexpected critique from Adrianne.
“Male dominated,” she said
“Male dominated!” echoed Ruth.
“Oh, if only,” said Eamonn.
Journalist Camilla Tominey, who was also guest on the sofa, asked: “I'd like to know who you think wears the trousers in this relationship.”
But Adrianne was coy in her response.
“I couldn’t possibly say,” she said, cryptically.
But Ruth was more than happy to elaborate on what she believed this meant.
“That means me - and you’re right,” she admitted.
Moments later she demonstrated this to be the case as she scolded her hubby as he appeared to reveal something about their private life.
“I’ll tell you to what degree,” began Eamonn. “We’re having a birth…”
“We’re not,” interrupted Ruth firmly.
“Ok, we’re not doing that, my wife has decided that is private. I have very little say in anything.”
It was all in jest of course - the pair are known for their on-screen bickering.
As giggles filled the studio, Ruth, looking at the autocue, came back with: “Shush and read that.”
You tell him, Ruth!
