This Morning blunder leaves Eamonn and Ruth under fire from caller

This Morning's Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford were left red-faced after a series of errors during a phone in on today's show.

The presenting duo have been hosting the popular ITV programme over the summer while Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield enjoy a break away.

A segment on Friday's episode covered how people can find love in the most unexpected places.

Eamonn and Ruth were talking to a caller named Anne who shared her story about meeting her fiancé Steve in a lift.

However, Ruth got the name of Anne's partner wrong as she was saying goodbye.

She said: "So have a wonderful wedding day and we wish you and Mike well. Mike did you say?"

And that wasn't the end of the mistakes as Eamonn then proceeded to get the caller's location incorrect.

He said: "Anne, you know I've never been to York."

The caller clarified she actually lived in West Yorkshire and Eamonn blamed the error on his notes.

He joked: "Not what I've got here. People just think I'm a cretin, but it's typed out in front of me here."

Eamonn and Ruth also performed CPR on a toy dog during today's show - and viewers took to Twitter to say the duo left them in hysterics throughout the whole episode..

One fan tweeted alongside a laughing face emoji: "She’s in West Yorkshire Eamonn wrong part"

Another said: "Must admit that segment would not have worked with anyone else presenting it. Was hilarious because of Ruth & Eamonn."

A third added: "Eamonn and Ruth make me laugh, shame they aren’t permanent presenters."

A fourth commented: "Love the bickering between Eamonn & Ruth."
