This Morning and Loose Women scrapped until next year leaving viewers in despair

This Morning and Loose Women have both been scrapped until next year - leaving viewers in despair.

The ITV daytime schedule has been ripped up this week for the New Year's celebrations.

Instead of a usual two hour helping of This Morning and hour-long Loose Women - fans are being forced to watch movies instead.

Big name guest, revealing interviews and hilarious moments have been replaced by Midsomer Murders and whirlwind thriller Twister.

Good Morning Britain and Lorraine managed to survive the cull this morning, but the Scottish presenter's show was just a highlights reel of the best moments of the year.

It's bad news for This Morning and Loose Women fans as the shows won't be returning on TV until 2020.

On New Year's Eve they are being replaced by more Midsomer Murders and Helen Mirren flick The Queen.

Good Morning Britain will be airing all week at 6am apart from New Year's Day itself.

The entire ITV schedule is out the window on New Year's Day as Ed Chamberlain presents live coverage of the horse racing.

Normal service will be resumed on Thursday January 2nd on ITV.

But it's not all bad news for This Morning fans - as they have teased some big name guests ahead of a jam-packed January.

And from Monday January 6th there will be major changes as GMB airs from 6am until 9am

This Morning will extend by 30 minutes - with both changes to cover the hour lost by The Jeremy Kyle Show.

*This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am and Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV
