This Morning: Alison Hammond's life from child star to becoming a famous national TV name and rocky romances

Known for her hilarious antics, contagious laugh, and very bubbly personality TV star Alison Hammond is adored by many.

Born and bred in Birmingham the star started her showbiz career when she was just 11 acting in Boon and Chalkface and joined the drama school Central Junior Television Workshop.

Alison's big break came when she went on the third series of the popular reality TV show Big Brother in 2002 and although Alison was not in the show for long she quickly shot to fame.

She lasted 15 days in the bungalow and was the second contestant to be evicted. From this Alison was signed as the celebrity interviewer for the ITV daytime show This Morning in 2003.

Now, 19 years later, she is still in the role and has taken on the role of full-time presenter alongside Dermot O'Leary every Friday and other times when Monday to Thursday presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are off.

This Morning is not her only TV appearance and Alison has an impressive amount of shows under her belt from Strictly Come Dancing to Loose Women, Celebrity Masterchef, and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

Alison was voted off fourth from I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here in 2010 and voted off sixth in the 2014 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The 46-year-old presenter has one son, 17-year-old Aiden Hammond, with her ex-husband Noureddine Boufaied, a Manchester taxi driver.

Alison has been engaged again to single dad and security guard Jamie Savage however their engagement ended with the pair going their separate ways.

She also dated audio technician Ben Kusi who she met while on the show Celebs Go Dating in 2020 but this relationship has since ended.

Last year Alison sadly lost her mum Maria to liver and lung cancer and her biological father Clifford Hammond passed away in Jamaica meaning Alison was unable to attend the funeral due to coronavirus travel restrictions.

Alison still lives in her hometown of Birmingham and says she will never leave as she loves the city so much, instead commuting to London for work.

Her most recent television show alongside This Morning has been appearing on the new BBC show I Can See Your Voice.
