I love the OnePlus 15, but while its display is top-tier and its performance and battery life are simply unmatched, its design needs a lot of help. OnePlus went backward on ergonomics with this release and even replaced the trademark OnePlus Alert slider with a generic AI button. Yuck.
Thankfully, Thinborne's minimalist case is finally available at Amazon and solves several problems that I have with the design. First off, it's a minimalist aramid fiber case, which means its primary function is to provide scratch resistance and add grip to an otherwise slippery phone.
The OnePlus 15 isn't slippery by any means — the Micro-Arc Oxidation metal frame has a semi-rough ceramic-like feel — but the boxy nature means it's less comfortable to hold and harder to pick up from a table. This case almost completely fixes that, as the aramid fiber material is more tactile and is just easier to grip and hold, plus the slightly rounded edges make the phone feel more natural in my hands.

Second, the Thinborne case adds MagSafe compatibility to the OnePlus 15. All of OnePlus's official cases do too, but this one does it without adding a bunch of bulk to the phone. The Pixel 10 is still the only major Android phone series with MagSafe built in, and while that's certainly annoying for other brands, at least a minimalist case solves the problem.
Now, if you've never used a minimalist case before, know that these are not made for dropping. While the IP65/68/69/69K/ABCZYX ingress protection on the OnePlus 15 will protect against all sorts of crazy situations, it won't keep your screen from cracking if it falls down a flight of stairs.
Now that the display is fully flat — one of the only good design changes this time around — tempered glass protectors work perfectly on the phone and will keep your screen from breaking in most situations. The case also comes with a tempered glass screen protector in the box, but you can always grab some backup OnePlus 15 screen protectors. So grab that case, slap on a screen protector, and enjoy a better OnePlus 15 experience for years to come.
