This million pound Merseyside house was once worth £165,000

An "executive" home has been listed for sale in Merseyside, that's worth a million pounds.

The huge six bedroom home benefits from a catalogue of "luxury" features that justifies it's whopping price tag. But the sprawling property was once valued at just 15% of the price that it is currently on the market for.

Found secluded on the private Coral Ridge, in Prenton, at the bottom of a large front garden and driveway, the home is priced at £1,375,000. However, Rightmove's property sale history shows that the house was listed for £165,000 in 1995.

After just three years, it went up in value by 36% and was listed for £225,000 in 1998. Then five years later the home recorded it's biggest price jump, after going on the market for £520,000 in 2003 which is an incredible 131% more than it's previous listing price.

Since then, the property has steadily gone up in price, much like the current housing market. The most recent price is a jump from being listed at £970,000 in 2021.

Properties in Prenton had an overall average price of £211,646 over the last year, according to Rightmove. Figures show most of the sales in the area during the last 12 months were semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £214,872.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £147,008, with flats fetching £126,960. Overall, sold prices in Prenton over the last year were 6% down on the previous year and 18% up on the 2019 peak of £179,313.

Despite the Coral Ridge home being massively above the average house price, the six bedroom home also offers much more than your average property. Similar homes with the same number of bedrooms within a mile of the listed home are on the market for £750,000 on Shrewsbury Road and £650,000 on Vyner Road South on the property website.

Images of the property on Rightmove show the house has an "impressive" entrance, with floor to ceiling glass windows and doors. It opens up to a bifurcated staircase, with glass panels that wrap around a galleried landing.

The ground floor is made up of many family living spaces, including a huge games room, bar and conservatory area. In this entertainment area, there's a large set of bi-fold doors that lead out to a private patio.

Estate agents say that the games room was once originally an indoor swimming pool with changing facilities. If the new owners wishes, the pool could be re-instated. Another bonus of the ground floor is the open plan, fully integrated, kitchen/diner which again has access to the outside through bi-fold doors.

A separate utility room, bathroom and bedroom is also found on this level. There is also access to the double garage and boiler room.

Upstairs are five double bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a separate dressing room. It also has a sun terrace that overlooks the private back garden area.

The second double also offers an en-suite and access to the terrace, while the other bedrooms share a four piece family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is currently being used as a walk-in wardrobe, but this could be transformed into whatever the new owner sees fit.

Outside the house has a wrap around plot, from the driveway and front garden to the large tiered lawn in the back. With plenty of spaces for garden furniture, both on the patio and grass, the area is described as being "the perfect outside space to enjoy those summer months."

The Bradshaw Farnham and Lea listing reads: "Executive and luxury living. With cutting edge technology, extensive living space and a large games room with a bar, this impressive home ticks every box for a growing family.

"This modern abode also offers a BioMass boiler and solar panels which make this home eco-friendly and profitable considering its size. Approaching this property and looking up the driveway, you are met with an instant wow factor.

"With an impressive floor to ceiling, glass fronted entrance, Chartwell in Coral Ridge stands out like no other."
