This man transformed his wife's tattoo of their trans son

A tattoo artist from Canada has retouched his wife's tattoo to update a portrait of his trans son.

Steve Peace, a Caldary based tattoo artist, changed the tattoo he gave his wife Lindsay over 10 years ago to include a recent portrait of his eldest son Ace.

His wife's original tattoos included three potraits of their children, Elliot, Hamish and Ace. Mr Peace has now changed Mrs Peace's tattoo of ace from a young girl wearing a pink dress to one of a young bow in a blue t-shirt and khaki shorts.

The update also shows the purple flower sitting at the top of the girl's dress is now a slingshot sitting under the collar of Ace's t-shirt.

“I think it really reaffirmed, for him, that we believed him,” Mr Peace told Global News. “Parents often sit in the closet themselves. This was putting it out there.”

He added: "Parents need to really support their kids in these situations. I thought he was happy before, but no — he’s happier now. It’s crazy. He smiles all the time."

Ace told Global News of his joy with the new tattoo: “It made me really happy. It finally fits.”
