Gwent Police are appealing for information after CCTV of a man 'keying' a car in Nantyglo emerged this week.
The incident that took place on Waun-Ebbw Road on Monday 14 December, between 10pm– 10.15pm, saw a man wearing a bobble hat and coat scratching the side of a parked vehicle with a sharp object.
30 other vehicles were also damaged during the same incident that locals are describing as appalling.
Janice Rees is the owner of one of the damaged cars, and says despite having lived on the street for more than 25 years, nothing like this has happened before.
She said: "We've lived here for a long time now and have never had anything like it happen in the past so we were quite shocked.
"We actually didn't find out it had been keyed until the next morning when the police knocked on the door, but when we looked we could see that unfortunately it had been scratched up the side.
"It's a lot of cars so obviously we were all annoyed at the stupidity of somebody to do this without any reason, and I hope someone comes forward with information to stop it happening to other people."
An appeal from Gwent Police today read:
"Gwent Police are appealing for information after 30 vehicles were damaged in Nantyglo, between 10pm – 10.15pm, on Monday 14 December, where a man used a sharp object to scratch the side of the vehicles which were parked on Waun-Ebbw Road.
