The Louisville Cardinals entered Week 8 as huge home underdogs against defending national champion Clemson, but Cardinals quality control coach Nic Cardwell did everything he could to get his players fired up for Saturday’s game just before kickoff.
Cardwell isn’t the only Cardinals coach who brings over-the-top intensity to his job. Defensive line coach Mark Ivey blooded himself warming up with players during a game earlier this season.
The methods seem to have worked, as Louisville played an excellent first quarter against the Tigers, picking off Trevor Lawrence twice to keep the game close.
