This Leeds United Christmas display by superfan 4,600 miles away is jaw-dropping

A Yorkshire man has turned the exterior of his home into a Leeds United Christmas lights display, but sadly it's not one you'll be able to drive by this year.

Because superfan Richard Pinder is more than 4600 miles away in the USA - not that he lets the distance get in the way of his love for the Whites.

The 37-year-old moved to Orting, Washington - an hour south of Seattle - eight years ago after marrying his American partner, Chelsey, who he met while he was serving in the army.

After he left the forces, he moved over to Washington, where he remains with his wife and daughter - cheering on Leeds United from 4,646 miles away.

The incredible display, which you can watch in the video above, took more than 3,500 lights - and is synchronized each night to music, including club anthem Marching On Together.

He was inspired by a YouTube tutorial on how to decorate your home with lights.

Richard said: "I thought well, I've got more than enough lights to make this work, so why not give it a shot?

"To be honest, it didn't take me long at all to do - I wish I spent longer doing it because I definitely didn't know that it was going to go viral!"

After completing the display, Richard uploaded a video onto the Leeds United Americas Facebook page.

He said: "I expected a couple of hundred likes, but I wasn't expecting the response we got.

"It's been amazing to be honest - people have travelled from Seattle, Portland and other areas around the state."
