This is why wizards will be running around Edinburgh today as they try to solve a magical mystery

A new outdoor experience will see flocks of witches and wizards running around Edinburgh this weekend.

The event by Clued Up Games will take place on Saturday afternoon, inviting groups from around the city to dress up and take part in an 'escape room' style event.

The magic themed mystery will see the groups dress up as their favourite wizarding character before flying off on their broomsticks to solve the different clues.

An ideal game to allow for social distancing, each group can contain up to six people who will run around 'interviewing' different witnesses in order to crack the murder mystery.

The event will run between 9am and 2pm, with one smartphone needed per team to access all the relevant maps and clues.

Unfortunately the event is now sold out, however there are other 'Witchcraft and Wizardy' games planned for Dundee, Glasgow and Paisley later in the year.

Each ticket is priced at £36 for a group of up to six people.

Throughout lockdown, Clued Up Games had cancelled all of their experiences until July 3, with the Edinburgh event their first since the start of the pandemic.
