This is why there was a large police presence in St Werburgh's this morning

Residents of one part of Bristol have been reassured after seeing a huge police presence in the area this morning.

Eye witnesses have told Bristol Live of waking up to find at least half a dozen police vehicles and a large number of officers on the crossroads of Mina Road and York Street in the centre of St Werburgh’s early on Sunday morning (July 26).

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said the large police presence was required to make an arrest, and that the team making the arrest have been working on solving a number of crimes of burglary in recent weeks.
