Police descended on Bristol city centre after two men were detained in Greggs.

Witnesses described seeing at least six police cars with flashing blue lights arrive in Broadmead.

The force spokesman said: "We were called at 4.50pm to Greggs.

"Security guards had detained two men for stealing."

He said it was too early to confirm if any arrests had been made.

A witness told Bristol Live: "There's six police cars and an ambulance car."

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service  said paramedics were on scene to help a person suffering from a 'medical incident'.
