This is why firefighters were called to Colston Avenue in Bristol city centre

Emergency services were called to a city centre building after the alarms started ringing yesterday evening.

Crews from Temple and Bedminster attended the incident on Colston Avenue at around 7.24pm on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the building's alarm systems had been set off accidentally.

A spokesman for Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 19:26 today.

"It was a false alarm due to apparatus.

"Crews from Temple and Bedminster were in attendance."

One witness, who wished not to be named, told Bristol Live: "Four fire engines in centre, not sure why though."
