A massive military aircraft has been spotted in the skies above Leeds today.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) says a A400M Atlas will be flying in the vicinity of Leeds Bradford Airport during an essential training operation.
In a statement, it added: "These are necessary, routine, flights and not connected with RAF support to the UK's fight against coronavirus."
The four-engine aircraft, which has travelled from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, is 147 ft long with a 139 ft wingspan.
It can carry 116 full equipped troops or up to 37 tonnes of equipment, including a Chinook helicopter.
Designed by German firm Airbus Defence and Space, the enormous plane can travel at 460 mph and operate at altitudes of up to 40,000 ft.
